ITINERARY:
Day1. DPS-BANYUWANGI

A morning departure from your hotel in Bali via minibus whisks you along the island’s scenic west coast, a slice of the real Bali few tourist see. Stop for photos and refreshments amid terraced ricefield, rustic villages, surging surf beaches and beautiful Bali National Park during the two and a half hour drive to Gilimanuk. Short ferry crossing to Java. Lunch is provided in a local restaurant, afterward proceed for a city tour in the small town of Banyuwangi, bechak (pedi cab) ride visiting the kampongs in the city, traditional market and Chinese temple. End of afternoon drive to overnight at Ijen Resort or Ketapang Indah Hotel

D.2. IJEN CRATER-DENPASAR
After an early wake up call and breakfast, a short drive with minibus carries you through coffee and clove plantations around village for Licin into one of Java’s last rainforest, surrounded in clouds along the forest’s giant fern and rich wildlife at the Park Ranger’s station to begin the 90 minutes hike to Ijen Crater, along a sandy trail with spectacular views. Rest along the rim of the volcanic crater lake at elevation of 2883 meters. The lake eerie color and smoke wafting from bright yellow sulfur deposits along the shore create the landscape both desolate barren and vibrantly alive. Watching miners descend into the crater and reemerge carrying up to 80 kilos of one on bamboo basket along the treacherous path. After absorbing this unique scenic, walk down the mountain. Return to hotel for lunch and refreshing yourself until leaving for ferry return to Bali.
